PTA Information
PTA
The Egan PTA is a parent-led volunteer organization dedicated to building a strong, connected community among parents, teachers, and administration. Through active parent involvement and the generosity of our volunteer community, we support our staff and enrich student life at Egan.
The best way to stay connected in junior high is to get involved:
- Join: Become an Egan PTA member
- Engage: Attend PTA meetings and community events
- Volunteer: Share your time to support our school

The Egan PTA holds six meetings during the school year on the first Thursday of the month, from 8:45 AM – 10:00 AM in the Egan Library.
Meetings are a great way to stay informed and connected. Each meeting includes:
- An update from the Principal
- A brief presentation by students, teachers, or community members
- A short business update to review and approve PTA expenditures
- Updates from committee chairs on upcoming events and activities
Everyone is welcome to attend, even if your schedule only allows you to join for part of the meeting. PTA meetings are also a great opportunity to connect with other parents before or after the session.
2026-2027 Meeting Dates:
- September 3, 2026
- November 5, 2026
- January 7, 2027
- February 4, 2027

Volunteers play an important role at Egan by building community and supporting our amazing teachers and staff. Because junior high offers fewer on campus opportunities, volunteering is one of the best ways for parents to stay connected.
Here are some of the ways to get involved:
- Staff Appreciation: Work with the Staff Appreciation Chairs to organize lunches and treats for Egan Staff
- Community Events: Help organize and/or support two community building events for Egan families
- Holiday Faire: Assist with planning, set up, management and/or clean up of this one-day student marketplace in December
- Viking Showcase: Meet with a small group of Egan 8th graders, as they present their achievements to you in a two-hour session at the end of the school year
- Student Social Events: Assist with passing out treats for student social events such as the Turkey Trot, Valentine’s Day Hot Chocolate and Spring Ice Cream Social
- Egan Gives Back Events: Help organize and/or support community service activities for Egan students and their families on and off campus
- Emergency Prep: Help organize classroom and emergency shed supplies
- Highway to High School: Organize or serve on a parent panel to help Egan families learn about the transition from Egan to Los Altos High School
- After School Sports: Support an Egan team as a Team Parent by managing team announcements, snacks, and transportation
- Language Support: Assist families with translation services when communicating with Egan staff
If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please contact the Egan PTA President. Thank you for your support!
