Welcome to Egan Junior High's 2014 Magazine Drive!

A FUN-draiser OF the kids, BY the kids and FOR the kids!!!

Did you know the magazine drive is the only fundraiser for Egan?  That is right ... there are no walk-athons, walk-abouts, or silent auctions at Egan!  The Mag Drive is the one and only fundraiser at Egan!

How do we raise the funds?  The kids do!  Students sell and renew magazine subscriptions to earn money for Egan and win exciting prizes such as the Money booth, Limo Lunch, Pig Races and much more!  This year only 1 order gets you cool earbuds. And two more gets you a magic calculator pen!  So it doesn't take much.

Vice Principal Coni Cullimore spearheads this program and brings the student body together to encourage school spirit.  So a great way for the kids to come together for a common cause.

It doesn't end there...The funds raised by the drive are managed by our kids' representatives in the student council, the student leadership body at Egan ...of course with close guidance from the Principal, Brenda Dyckman.  The funds are used for a wide variety of school improvement projects, instructional support, 8th grade graduation gift, school awards, PE clothes and equipment, etc. etc.  What better way than this to teach the students responsible money management!

Please encourage the students to reach out to extended family members, neighbors, parent’s co-workers, friends, etc., to buy or renew subscriptions.  This year ordering process has been made even more simple.  We will be doing online ordering only.  There are tons of tips on how to send emails, send followups/reminders on the ordering website.

The Magazine Drive Kick Off is on Tue, September 9th...more information will be coming home soon.

For those of you concerned with sharing emails, here's a quote from Rod, the president of First Class Fundraising: "I wanted to let you know that our fulfillment company, American Publishers, adheres very strictly to its policy of not using email addresses – or any other personal information – for anything other than supporting the schools’ magazine drives. And e-mails are only sent during the actual drive (a duration of approx. 3 weeks). Personal information is destroyed once a student has graduated from the school, and so in the case of Egan the maximum usage of personal information for generating sales for the magazine drive is on two occasions (for a period of three weeks each) for two consecutive years. "
